Its Holiday season! Starbuck’s christmas Drinks!!!
REBOOT! Hi Guys, after my hiatus I found the inspiration to do reviews again. This time we look at yoshino sushi, a location I go to for there AYCE sushi. The All you can eat menu is not only limited to sushi but hot items as well. Though the taste here may not beat Gattten Sushi, it’s overwhelming quantity does. Unlike some places the rolls here are almost like sashimi. It has some degree of variety in its rolls and the service here is A+.
Service 5/5 Taste: 3/5 Quantity 5/5
Recommendation: White Tuna Avoid: Tempura rolls( sickening aftertaste)
Price Range: $20-$25 AYCE( depending if lunch or dinner, non AYCE option offered
This place is what inspired me to start my travel/food blog. This is 88 Steps. The myth behind this place is that there are 88 steps going up, yet 77 going down. Obviously this myth has been debunked, but the top of these stairs still remain as one of the best Sun Rise/Set watching locations in the SGV. The entrance to the steps lies beyond a narrow alley way between two houses. It should be around 7202-7208 Tegner Dr Rosemead, CA 91770. It really is a great place overall to view the city and sky, HOWEVER! This place has been sealed off before by the police, once because too many people have shown up and the local residence called the police for domestic disturbances. So if you happen to see the popo’s wandering the area, I suggest you put off your visit till next time.
Recommendations: Plan a romantic date, Clear your thoughts, Bring drinks to watch with your friends, just a place to chill
Avoid: The Police, and stay away from the grass, there’s a lot of litter and broken glass in there
Bit lazy today for a full paragraph review,so here’s the stats and I hope it will do
Recommendation: Cold Soup Ramen(might be a bit salty) or daikokuya ramen with koterri soup(creamy)
Avoid: the sushi, they bs your order /
Bahooka located in Rosemead, right across the street from Rosemead High. Their food is so delicious, and on top of that- its FULFILLING! Great for their price range.
Oh, and they even give you lollipops after you eat!
The Tim review:
This place has been here for over 20 years. Its a hawaian themed family restaurant that specializes in BBQ ribs and seafood. Despite the dark lighting and appearance of the food, the ribs are delicious and you will get full.
Price range: $10-$25
Recomendation: BBQ RIBS and Crab ball appitizer
Avoid: The decorations, they can be a bit dusty
FIESTA TIME! This review is for the Mexican Food Truck around El Monte. This Truck only appears on friday and saturday nights, if you’re craving its tastiness some other time, too bad. This place is one of my favorites for mexican food because its fresh, tasty, cheap and the service is great. The food here is legit mexican, not like taco bell or del taco. The food is made as you order it and as you wait you can load up on condiments such as salsa, radish or onions. I don’t think there is a downside to place. You can either eat your food in an outdoor setting(chairs and tables provided) or simply take it to go.
There isn’t really a name for this place, but its open from 6pm-11pm every friday and saturday at 9548 Garvey Ave, El Monte. I believed its a family owned establishment as well. With that being said, brush up on your spanish :]
Price Range: around $4-$5 for everything, tacos are $1.25 each
Recommendations: Mulitas(not sure if i spelled it right), this is a pretty good appitizer dish that you don’t normally find at mexican restaurants, its suppose to be a dish from a certain part of mexico.
Feel free to ask for for grilled onions/jalapenos, its free condiments but you have to ask for it
This post is a bit different from the others. This time instead of reviewing a restaurant or boba shop, I’m reviewing Round 1, a family amusement center. Round 1 is much like Dave and Busters, the only difference is that unlike Dave and Busters, Round 1 contains several karaoke rooms as well as actual bowling alleys rather than a virtual one. Yes, Round 1 is an adult Chucky E. Cheese. It contains lots and lots of games in its arcade from fighting, shooting, racing, music and ticket redemption. It has a big bowling alley that goes neon lights once night hits and music videos play on the lane as you bowl( YOU can choose the music). It has Darts, Pool and ping Pong as well. Its Karaoke room kinda sucks in comparison to everything else. The sound quality is mediocre and lyrics appear in a dull way. The place comes equip with both a food stand and a bar.
Price Range: Fairly cheap, the deal that makes me favor it over Dave and Busters is its $10 for 1 hour all you can play arcade games
Food: I suggest you eat else where, most of the food is frozen or packaged (also over priced)
Fun place to hang with friends or family
Hi guys, this is a review of the first tea house I’ve been to. When this place popped up, it caused a chain of boba store uprisings, like stores were popping up all around SGV. Before half and half, all I drank from were fast food boba places such as quickly, lollicup, etc. After half and half, I couldn’t go back to the basic tea drinks. I fell in love with the tea house, from its over sized cups to its unique smell.Half and Half prompt me to go try other tea houses. The drinks here are delish, some maybe overly sweet, but for others its just right. The only downside to Half and Half is the incredibly long wait for the drinks.
Price: $2.85-$7(prices include food as well)
Recommendation: Wintermelon milk tea w/ honey boba or any of the iced milk drinks
Dislike: The long lines, on a good day is a 10 minute wait, on a bad day is 1hr+
Suggestion: call in the order in advance, but order must exceed $10 to call in
